PCC Hardyal Dhindsa has allocated £485,000 to tackle the issues that affect quality of life in communities and to make communities stronger. Grants are available from £50 up to £25k to support and improve lives and make Derbyshire a safer place to live. This fund helps both individuals and groups, protecting people, helping victims and keeping crime at bay. From tackling ASB, making property more secure, protecting those who are vulnerable for any reason to supporting sustainable community projects, this fund can help.
To make sure the money is used where it will make a real difference, you need to tell us where the problems are. The Commissioner will prioritise schemes and ideas that make people less vulnerable to becoming a victim of crime. There are micro-grants (up to £1k) administered by local Councils for Voluntary Services (CVS) organisations which will help, for example, to make homes more secure and ensure vulnerable people are given the help that they need. Larger grants (of between £1k and £25k) are available to make a real and lasting impact in local communities. You can discuss problems and potential solutions with your CVS or local policing teams.
The application window will open on Thursday 15 October and close on Friday 13 November 2020
