Vacancy for Parish Clerk

The Parish Council is looking to appoint a Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer as a result of the retirement of the previous post holder

Salary to be negotiated in line with SLCC/NALC guidelines but likely to be around £14.90 per hour. The person appointed will be eligible for enrolment in the Local Government Pension Scheme

The role is based on an average of up to 15 hours per week (again subject to negotiation) including attendance at evening meetings. It is possible that some meetings will be held online

An office is available but the majority of work can be home based. The successful applicant must have their own transport

Knowledge of local government administration and finance would be advantageous

Relevant qualifications such as CiLCA are desirable. Successful applicants without qualifications should be willing to undertake the CiLCA course and, if new to local government, will be required to complete the Introduction to Local Council Administration ( ILCA ) course. Other support will be provided as necessary

The successful applicant will be confident to work online as necessary, dealing with email, inputting to the web site and knowledgeable in the use of Office software such as Word and Excel.

The post holder is required to provide administrative support, manage finances and accounts, ensure compliance with both internal and external audit and prepare agendas and minutes for meetings of the full Council and Committees
