RTO Covid-19 Project

Dear Mr. Davies,

I hope you don’t mind me contacting you like this. I found your details in a directory of UK parish councils, am I right in thinking you are the point of contact for Brereton and Ravenhill Parish Council? If so, I was wondering if you would be able to help me with a request.

I work on a National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) funded research project based at the University of Southampton. We’re looking to recruit members of the public to take part in a large-scale survey on the preventative behaviours people are taking to avoid catching COVID-19 and the long-term effect of those that have suffered from COVID-19 during the pandemic.

To make our findings as meaningful as possible, we are hoping to get a broad range of participants from across the UK. As such, local parish councils seemed, to us at least, to be a good way to reach people that we wouldn’t normally be able to reach. If you have a local community group (either online or in person) would you be willing to help up spread the word about our research?

Details about the project can be found here and we have social media posts that link to the survey set up for ease of sharing from our Facebook and Twitter accounts here and here. This is the direct link to the survey: https://pharma.unige.ch/limesurvey/index.php/326544?lang=en. Also, if you think you would make good use of a poster or small fliers, please get in touch and I would be happy to send you the appropriate materials.

We are particularly keen to feedback our findings to any community that helps us with this project. If that is of interest to you let me know and I will add you to our update list and send you a summary of our findings once the project is completed.

I’m always happy to have a quick chat if you have any questions about our work, so if you would like to know more please do get in touch.

Best wishes,

Dr Richard M Clarke
