BRERETON  AND  RAVENHILL PARISH  COUNCIL

 

Minutes of a meeting of the Planning Committee held at the Parish Hall, Ravenhill Park, Brereton, on Tuesday, 5th February 2019.

 

Present

 

Councillors TA Jones [Chairman], Mrs P Ansell, PA Fisher, Mrs W Fisher and GN Molineux.

 

An apology for absence was received from Councillor N Parton.

 

Also present:  Councillor K Ansell.

 

Mr PG Davies, the Parish Clerk, was also in attendance.

            RESOLVED

 

That the minutes of the meeting held on 8th January 2019, be approved and signed as a correct record.

That the following comments be submitted to the District Council on the planning applications listed below:-

 

CH/19/035

 

Variation of Condition 24 [Approved Plans- CH/18/261] to extend existing basement

CH/19/026

Residential development of one ]1-bed] bungalow

Land to rear of 2 Larch Road

 

The Parish Council object to this planning application as they consider the development is dangerous, unsightly and out of character with the street scene.

 

CH/19/020

Front first floor and ground floor extension, single storey rear extension to replace existing conservatory and extension to rear facing dormer windows

29 Armitage Lane

 

 

 

No objection subject to [i] the District Council being satisfied that there would be no adverse effect on neighbouring properties and [ii] a condition to prevent construction works, deliveries and collection of materials during nights, Bank and Public Holidays, Saturday afternoons and Sundays.

 

CH/19/007

Replacement workshop/storage building

Redbrook Lane Industrial Estate, Redbrook Lane

 

No objection subject to [i] the District Council being satisfied that there would be no adverse effect on neighbouring properties, [ii] a condition to prevent construction works, deliveries and collection of materials during nights, Bank and Public Holidays, Saturday afternoons and Sundays and [iii] the development not imposing or adversely affecting properties in Birch Lane.

 

  1. ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT [EIA] SCOPING OPINION CONSULTATION, RUGELEY POWER STATION

 

The District Council had received the above Scoping Opinion request submitted under Regulation 15 of the Town and Country Planning [Environmental Impact Assessment] Regulations [England] 2017.  The Authority had invited the comments of the Parish Council on the EIA.

 

RESOLVED

 

That the District Council be informed that the EIA must include:-

 

  • appropriate steps in respect of asbestos removal;
  • appropriate steps to protect neighbouring land, including homes and other buildings and roads;
  • appropriate steps to ensure that material from the demolition does not enter the air or the River Trent; and
  • measures to ensure nature conservation is fully addressed and the need to consult bodies with expertise in this field.

 

  1. LICHFIELD DISTRICT COUNCIL – LOCAL PLAN REVIEW – PREFERRED OPTIONS AND POLICY DIRECTIONS

 

The Clerk reported that this document was available for comments.  The deadline for the submission of views was 18th March 2019.

 

RESOLVED

 

That this matter be included on the Agenda for the next meeting of the Committee.

 

 

  1. CCDC – CALL FOR SITES 2019

 

The District Council had advised that they were producing a 2019 update to the Strategic Housing and Employment Land Availability Assessment.

 

A ‘Call for Sites’ submission could now be made in response to the update.  The deadline for comments was 8th March 2019.

 

Members indicated that the following sites could be included in the response to the District Council:-

 

 

  • Site of the Old Pear Tree school
  • The Castel Public House
  • Redbrook Lane Industrial Site – subject to relocation of existing businesses to the Power Station site.

 

            RESOLVED

 

That this matter be included on the Agenda for the next meeting of the Committee.

 

  1. 32 ATTLEE CRESCENT

 

The Clerk reported that an appeal had been lodged against the decision of the District Council to refuse planning permission for the erection of a new detached dwelling on vacant land at the side of 32 Attlee Crescent.

 

RESOLVED

 

That the Chairman be authorised to prepare a response on behalf of the Parish Council.
