BRERETON AND RAVENHILL PARISH COUNCIL
Minutes of a meeting of the Planning Committee held at the Parish Hall, Ravenhill Park, Brereton, on Tuesday, 3rd December 2019.
Councillors TA Jones [Chairman], JC Harvey, DR Johnson and GN Molineux.
Also present: Councillor Mrs G Harvey.
Apologies for absence were received from Councillors PA Fisher and Mrs W Fisher.
Mr PG Davies, the Parish Clerk, was also in attendance.
- DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST
There were no declarations given at the commencement of the meeting.
That the minutes of the meeting held on 5th November 2019, be approved and signed as a correct record.
- PLANNING DECISIONS
Listed Building Consent
CH/18/017 – Change of use of the Grade II listed Cedar Tree Hotel to provide 9 residential appartments. Change of use of the annex to create 2 dwellings and development of the hotel car parks to create 16 new dwellings. Demolition of squash court and demolition of a function room attached to the listed building.
- PLANNING APPLICATIONS
The Committee noted the response prepared by the Chairman, and sent to the District Council, in respect of the following planning application. Members also noted the contents of a letter from Mr H Thornton on the same planning application.
Construction of 79 houses
Land between Wharf Road and Hardie Avenue
Members considered two other planning applications and it was
- That the action taken by the Chairman in respect of CH/19/374 be approved and confirmed.
- That the following comments be sent to the appropriate District Council in respect of the applications listed below:-
Design and construction of 2 semi-detached 3 bedroom dwellings with associated parking
Land at 2 Ash Tree Bank.
- Over development of the site
- Building too close to neighbouring properties
CH/19/201 [CCDC] 19/00753/OUTMEI [Lichfield District Council
Major Application: Outline planning application for the creation of development platform and the demolition of existing office building and environmental centre, site clearance, remediation and mixed-use development comprising: up to 2,300 new dwellings and residential units [Use Classes C3 and C2]; up to 1.2ha of mixed use [Use Classes A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, C1, C2, C3, D1 and D2] up to 5ha of employment [Use Classes B1a,b,c and, B2]; 1 No. 2 Form Entry Primary School [Use Class D1]; Formal and Informal Publicly Accessible Open Space; Key Infrastructure including new adoptable roads within the site and the provision of a new primary access junction on to the A513; ground mounted solar panels and 2 No. existing electricity substations [132 kV and 400 kV] retained [All matters reserved except access] – AMENDED PLANS/DOCUMENTS.

That the Parish Council’s comments, as set out in the letter attached to these minutes, be approved.
- LICHFIELD DISTRICT COUNCIL
The Committee noted that the Preferred Options in the Local Plan Review of Lichfield District Council was out to consultation until 24th January 2020.
- BRERETON CONSERVATION AREA
Members noted the concerns of the Landor Society in respect of Brereton Conservation Areas which were set out in a letter to the District Council, a copy of which was circulated at the meeting.
That the comments of the Landor Society be fully supported and the District Council be advised accordingly.
- FLAXLEY GREEN FIRE SITE
That this Parish Council support any comments sent to the District Council by Brindley Heath Parish Council in respect of the need to tidy the above site.
