STEERING COMMITTEE

 

Minutes of a meeting of the Steering Committee held in the Parish Hall, Ravenhill Park, Brereton, on 30th July 2019.

 

Present

Also Present – Mr PG Davies [Secretary]

 

Apologies for absence were received from Councillors Mrs G Harvey and J Harvey.

 

  1. MINUTES

 

The minutes of the meeting of the Steering Committee held on 27th June 2019, were approved and signed as a correct record.

 

  1. NEIGHBOURHOOD DEVELOPMENT PLAN

 

In advance of the meeting, the Chairman had circulated the following drafts of the Neighbourhood Development Plan:-

 

  • Introduction
  • The Parish Today

 

The Committee considered the documents in some detail and made minor textual amendments which were noted by the Chairman.

 

The Secretary undertook to obtain the latest indices of social deprivation, which would be sent to the Chairman [paragraph 2.3 – Page 10 refers].

 

  1. RUGELEY POWER STATION – OUTLINE PLANNING PERMISSION

 

The Chairman reported that he had attended the exhibition held on 4th July 2019, at Mansfield House.

 

The Committee noted that the Chairman had spent some considerable time at the exhibition but he was not approached at any stage to give his opinion on the proposed development.

 

In what appeared to be a pre-prepared press release, the Chronicle had reported that local residents had given a ‘thumbs up’ to the proposals.  In his capacity as Chairman of the Parish Council, Councillor TA Jones had written to the paper stating that it was not clear that the public did support the proposals.  A copy of his letter had been published by the paper.

That the next meeting be held on Monday, 16th September 2019, at 8.15 p.m.
